A British pub house for two Jackabees

When Fattie’s and Smartie’s owner told us he would like a customised dog house for two Jackabees, the first thing that came to mind was the rather English origins of Jack Russells and Beagles. British pubs as the art theme came naturally.

Being dog-parents ourselves, we know how dogs need a box/ crate to hide when the floor is vacuumed, or when they did something naughty again.

To add an agility element, we introduced stairs on the side. We like how the stairs mirror the staircase behind the house!

Given that Fattie lives up to his name, we took care to check that the house’s measurements and the width of the peek-out windows would not result in a dog-stuck-in-the-house situation.

A personalised hand-stenciled sign with bronze corners for the dog house

For the pub theme, Mihai created frames for the windows and doors and roof beams from local African mahogany timber. The hand-stenciled sign, complete with bronze corners, adds a final personalised touch.

Here’s to the Jackabees enjoying their art-themed house for years to come!

Special thanks to Smartie’s and Fattie’s owners for the images!
